Venture Student Ministries Summer Update

Engage Camp!!!

Wow! What an amazing time we had at Engage Camp this past month! This year we saw 38 teens attend camp this past month and four teenagers accept Christ! This year, the theme of camp was TRUTH. We discussed what it means in each one of your lives to KNOW the Truth, BE Truth, LIVE the Truth, and SHARE Truth. We saw many teens connecting with each other, the message, and with our volunteers as they began to make personal decisions in their walk with God. Camp would not be possible without the help of our TeeOff for Teens Sponsors. Due to their support, we were able to raise over-and-above so that finances were not an issue for a single teen that wanted to go to camp. We are excited to announce some events coming soon to Venture. Be sure to make your calendar!

VBS 2022!

Next week July 24th-28th from 6:00PM-9:00PM is Guide Church’s annual VBS for our preK-5th graders. As a result, we will not be having Venture on July 27th. We encourage teens to volunteers. Reach out to Julian if you would like to Volunteer.

Bible Study Challenge Trips:

Fall Bible Study Challenge Trip to Niagara Falls – Aug 1st-2nd ($80)
Spring Bible Study Challenge Trip to King’s Island – Aug 5th ($20)

If you completed the challenges, you should have already received communication from Julian regarding the trip details.

Venture Lock-In – August 10th:

Our Venture Lock-Ins are an extended Venture Wednesday experience. The night begins like a normal Venture Wednesday and then extends overnight where the guys will complete their Lock-In at the South Campus and the Girls will complete their Lock-In at the North Campus. Stayed tuned for future information regarding this particular event.

High School Engage Equip Retreat – Sept 9th-11th:

Equip Retreats are designed to help students discover the “Me” that God created them to “Be”. In a world where students are searching for their identity the Equip Retreat strives to provide unique environments that allow students to better understand how God has shaped and impassioned them to make an eternal impact in this world. The Equip retreat is a GREAT follow-up from camp as it challenges students to continue taking the steps and commitments they made at camp.

Note: This will be a High School only trip (Rising 9th-Rising 12th graders). The trip is $110 and will take place in Jabez, KY. Be on the lookout for Sign-Up Sheets and communication to come soon!

Venture Series: Your Story-His Story/I’m In

Prior to camp, Venture went through a series called “Your Story-His Story, where we discussed the story of the Bible. We focused on how the best “Story” we can have is to make our lives apart of “God’s Story.” We also highlighted the testimonies of many of our volunteer and even had Pastor Ben come in as a guest speaker.

Since camp, we have been walking through the book of John in a series called “I’m in.” The focus of this series is the importance of living an “All In” life for Jesus and to simply tell Him “I’m in.” Be sure to ask your student about what they have been learning on Wednesday Nights!

Worship Night

One of the five major purposes of Venture is Worship. In Venture, we want to accomplish that by showing students how they can worship, teaching them about what true worship is, and having monthly “Worship Wednesdays”. In June, we had our first worship night. During Worship Night, we listened to worship music and traveled around to different stations like “decorating a prayer journal”, “silence and thanks,” and “writing your personal testimony/story.” Students were able to really connect with God and each other through this dedicated night of Worship.

Venture Teams

At Guide Church, we like to say that “You Are Never More Like Jesus Than When You Are Serving Others” (Matt. 20:28). In Venture, part of our purpose is to transform teens from participants to active members! As a result, we started Venture Teams! There are multiple opportunities for students to serve in Venture. Venture now has a Production team, Baking team, Dinner team, Media team, Game team, Greeting team, and Venture band. If you are interested in serving or want more information reach out to a Venture Leader.

Venture Wins

Since our last newsletter, 10 students have accepted Christ and four student went public with their faith in Baptism! Continue to pray that we see more teenagers accept Christ and take next steps in their walk with God!
