Venture Student Ministries Fall Update

New Location – Big Changes Coming to Venture and Guide Church!

The past year, Guide Church sought God on a next step for our church. He revealed to us the possibility of uniting with The Crossing Community Church located in North Hilliard. In October, the merging of the two churches was approved. Now, as of January 1st, 2023, The Crossing Community Church and Guide Church will be united as ONE Church.

Due to this BIG Change, there will be BIG Changes to the Youth Ministry. One of those major changes is that the North Campus will be moving locations from 4190 Weaver Court to 4770 Britton Parkway, the current location of The Crossing Community Church. Starting December 21, 2022, Venture will no longer take place at the current North Campus location, but at the New North Campus location, 4770 Britton Parkway.

Check your inbox later this week for an email from Julian about all the big changes.

Venture to Niagara, Night of Carols, & Upcoming Christmas Party

Venture to Niagara!

In Fall 2021, I challenged our teens in our first ever Bible Study Challenge. For completing the challenge, they were rewarded with a trip to Niagara Falls. The trip was AMAZING as the students got to see one of God’s wonderful creations. Check out this amazing video summary of the trip in the video above!

Reminder, the Fall 2022 Bible Study challenge has been extended. The last day to submit your Fall 2022 Bible Study challenge is December 28th!

Night of Carols, December 14th, 6:30-8:00PM

Every year, Guide Church, along with Venture, attends nursing homes and the elderly to sing Christmas Carols. This year, on December 14th, in place of our regular Venture service, the Youth Ministry will be going caroling. This is a family event and we encourage our teens and parents to attend!
This event will meet at the Guide Church-South Campus located at 75 Hilliard Rome Rd!

Venture Series: Called to Courage/Christmas Playlist

Called to Courage
This past semester in Venture, we went through the book of 1 Samuel focusing on how teens can be courageous at their young age. This was a “Small Group” series. During Small Groups, we split the teens up amongst our volunteers and read the scripture together. During this time, the teens can interact with the scripture and be challenged by our Small Group questions.
Fear and anxiety are major issues that our teens face today. We want to teach our teens the comfort and courage the Bible gives us to help them tackle the challenges in their lives head-on. We dealt with topics like rumors and gossip, what a true relationship with God looks like, insecurity, bad friendships, and more.

Christmas Playlist

Currently, we are walking through the book of Jonah and learning how even in the Old Testament, God was pointing towards Jesus. We want our teens to realize that all of God’s word is relevant in their lives and help them see how they can see Jesus in the amazing stories of the Old Testament.

Worship Night

One of the five major purposes of Venture is Worship. In Venture, we want to accomplish that by showing students how they can worship, teaching them about what true worship is, and having monthly “Worship Wednesdays”. This past November, we had our second worship night. During Worship Night, we had a performance from our Venture Band, listened to worship music and traveled around to different stations like “decorating a prayer journal”, “silence and thanks,” and “writing your personal testimony/story.” Students were able to really connect with God and each other through this dedicated night of Worship.

 Venture Wins

Since our last newsletter, 1 student accepted Christ and two students went public with their faith in Baptism! Continue to pray that we see more teenagers accept Christ and take next steps in their walk with God!
